John Monteverde, MD, MBA

 A pioneer in advances in the practice of interventional cardiology, Dr. Monteverde introduced Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA) (1984) and Peripheral Stenting (1985) at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital, and was also the first doctor to perform Coronary Stenting in Metropolitan Chicago (1992). He was voted the Top Cardiologist in Metropolitan Chicago in a doctors’ poll conducted by Channel 7 News in 1993, and was named by his peers to the 2011 and 2012 U.S. News and World Report’s Top Doctors List. He is on Castle Connolly’s Top Doctor 2013 List.

Dr. Monteverde graduated magna cum laude from medical school. He finished his medical residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and completed his Cardiology Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. He is board certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Cardiovascular Disease, the American Board of Interventional Cardiology, the National Board of Echocardiography, and the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. He completed his MBA with the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention.
